As a former manager, trainer, and substitute teacher I have been able to work in many capacities. Now, my hope as a counselor is to guide clients on their journey through their difficulties as they discover autonomy, empowerment, and self-determination. I want to meet each client where they are in the present moment and explore individual needs as we build necessary skills for the future. Every person we meet is unique, and I believe understanding the “whole” of the individual is a key to exploring and cultivating authenticity. Building a foundation of self-compassion and kindness to oneself is a wonderful place to begin.
I believe in meeting clients where they are, and finding out how I can best support them in the present moment. I believe in working on emotion regulation skills and communication skills to allow each individual an understanding of what it is to be regulated and effective with interpersonal communication.
Change is tough, and can be uncomfortable. I am committed to each client individually and recognizing that everyone comes to counseling for a different reason and at a different stage.
