Hi, I am Jaquita Shorts and I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor. My area of focus is family, relationship, and individual. Clients that I typically work experience depression, anxiety, work-related stress, marital/relationship issues, and grief/loss. My theoretical approach is comprised of person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness skill training.
I'm working with my clients; my primary focus is to provide a safe space where they can open up and be vulnerable wholeheartedly without feeling judged or criticized. Serving others drove me to this type of work because there is intrinsic satisfaction and personal reward in helping others navigate through life's uncertainties.
At the outset of our first counseling session, we will collaborate together to develop a treatment plan to address goals and objectives. Within 3 months, we will reassess the goals to determine if there has been progress or regression. After which, we will modify it if needed.
