Jane works with adults with the goal of enhancing each individual’s inherent capacity for growth, development and self-awareness. She specializes in working with individuals and families and has extensive experience working with those with chronic illness and disabilities. Her clinical interests and expertise include treatment of anxiety and depression, dissociative disorders, divorce, trauma and is well versed in the treatment of grief and loss. She has run support groups for both men and women with MS and is the former Director of Chapter Services for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter.
Jane's theoretical perspective is interpersonal, relational and psychodynamic. Her practice focuses on life transitions, including parenting, relationship issues, divorce, step family issues and various family constellations as well as aging and the impact of chronic illness/ pain on relationships.
Jane Elson, L.C.S.W., B.C.D. is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years experience. She graduated from S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook in 1987 and practices both psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She is board certified through the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
