I work to create a safe space for clients to discuss, process and experience emotions that may be uncomfortable. My goal is to develop a rapport that allows clients to make personal changes with support. It is essential that clients feel empowered to choose treatment interventions and develop a lifestyle that supports management of illness and/or symptoms. I want clients to improve the quality of their lives and relationships as a result of working through therapeutic processes, which can include trauma work, cognitive restructuring, dialectical behavior skills and emotional regulation.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of counseling experience. My background includes work with severe and persistent mental illnesses, as well as work with various populations including couples, law enforcement, women's' issues and adolescents.
It is my belief that life is messy and our desire is often to understand chaotic emotions, thoughts and patterns. In doing so, clients can experience freedom from the dynamics that create dysfunction and impact their abilities to thrive, despite mental health issues.
