I welcome you to my Art Therapy and Counseling practice (now including a four legged assistant "MJ.") After receiving my Bachelor's here in Missoula, I completed my Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling in Oregon. I have held professional licensures with the State of Oregon (2011-2013) and the State of Montana since 2013. I am a nationally registered Art Therapist (ATR).
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I incorporate Art Therapy for children, teens, adults, families, and couples. My methods are rooted in foundations of attachment, neurobiology, and resilience. I introduce mindfulness and meditation with the workings of one’s brain which allows one to develop self-compassion and empowerment.
My approach is eclectic and dynamic with emphasis placed on creating interpersonal safety and rapport through empathy, humor, and honesty. Efforts to change self-perception, emotions, and behaviors require work both in session and out of session. Some change will occur quickly and easily, but some change requires slow, deliberate, and repeated efforts.
