My practice is accepting patients. My office is conveniently located in the center of downtown, Amherst. I am a trauma informed clinician, and I approach treatment utilizing anti-oppressive and liberatory frameworks. My work is relationship based and culturally responsive. I address issues of race, gender, sexuality, and class oppression fluidly, and integrate identity development and social position in treatment. My clinical orientation is psychodynamic, utilizing cognitive and behavioral strategies when appropriate. I have engaged a range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, relational concerns, poverty and isolation.
I embrace work with LGBTQIA and BIPOC folks. I engage the intrapsychic world, while paying close attention to the environmental and political forces that shape one's reality. I hold a PhD from Smith College School of Social Work. I am a scholar of Black women's mental health.
I'm deeply committed to issues related to social, economic and political status. My personal experience as a teen parent, Black woman, and first-generation college student informs my work and my commitment to serving the most vulnerable among us. I'm a fierce and compassionate practitioner, who wholeheartedly and collaboratively supports fellow sufferers.
