I am James Thomas, LCSW. I strive to meet people where they are exploring and support individuals to get in touch with what is truly important to them while cultivating loving acceptance of themselves. Being able to increase insight, understanding of how the past impacts the present, although does not have to dictate one's reality, developing a clear, nonjudgmental view of the current situation allows people to work towards becoming a person who lives a life which is congruent with their values.
I believe all humans have inherent worth and dignity and are capable of overcoming any obstacles, traumas and struggles they are currently and have previously faced. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment. Maintaining a nonjudgemental perspective is vital to my own well being and therapeutic approach.
I strive to learn and grow as much as possible, I believe everyone is the expert of their own lives although due to the trauma, and struggles that exist in our current reality it is easy to lose touch with our true self.
