I am a clinical psychologist and an attorney. I am not accepting new therapy patients at this time, but am providing legal consultations and supervision to therapists. I am Professor of Psychology at John Jay College, where I created the MA-JD Program in Psychology and Law. I am Past President of the New Jersey Psychological Association, past Chair of the Committee on Professional Practices and Standards of the American Psychological Association, recipient of the APA's Award for Advocacy, and the NJPA's Psychologist of the Year, Distinguished Teaching Award , and Lifetime Achievement Award.
I am author of the books, Law & Mental Health Professionals: New Jersey (2nd Ed.), and also Law & Mental Health Professionals: New York, both published by the American Psychological Association. I am the author of 50 published articles in professional journals, and have given 60 psychological lectures and presentations to professional groups.
I received my B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York at City College. I was also awarded a Certificate in Psychotherapy from the New York University Postdoctoral Program.
