When seeing a new patient I am always mindful of the value of listening and communication. I am always mindful of ways of interpreting deeper understanding, but it begins with the building of a relationship between the two people in the room. By allowing this to develop I am able to assist in finding resolutions to symptoms and patterns that are emotionally painful and stubbornly have not gone away. My ideal client is one who is at least curious about making a commitment to change. I will attempt to do my part. I do use video and teletherapy for new and established patients.
I treat adults and couples, but I also specialize in seeing children and adolescents. I utilize supportive methods in my practice but have also been trained in psychoanalysis, and I think of myself as being able to help people who might consider their issues too difficult to be treated successfully
I see myself as an individual and professional who can listen and reflect back. I am an active participant in sessions. I have seen many of my patients for a number of years, which is an indication that they feel they are making continual progress.
