My name is Jim Chaney, and I have been working in schools and now private practice for approximately twenty years. I have an art degree, master's in Education, and a master's in Counseling and Preventative Mental Health. As a husband and father of four children, I understand many of the challenges facing today’s children, parents, and families. My mission is to help families achieve their healthiest and strongest versions through empathy, understanding, expectations, boundaries, respect, support, and love.
I specialize in behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, divorce, peer relationships, school issues, and parenting. I have a unique background with an extensive amount of experience in schools and within the home. I have training and experience in the following evidence-based fields, TF-CBT, PCIT, Art Therapy, SSET, Play Therapy, and SFT.
I specialize in supporting families and individuals with realistic and achievable goals. Understanding the unique challenges and strengths of each individual client is crucial for success in therapy. I work on Sundays and select weeknights. I offer in person and virtual visits. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
