Welcome! My name is Jamal Waire, PsyD, founder of Grounded Mind Psychology. I am a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of OCD, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, and relationship distress. My approach to therapy is grounded in the principles of science and compassion, and I have extensive training in several evidenced-based modalities, including CBT, ERP, and ACT. My goal as a therapist is to provide a warm and validating space while forming a collaborative partnership with each of my clients.
While therapy may be time-limited, I strive to help clients build healthy habits that are sustainable in the long term. When appropriate, I will incorporate humor, metaphors, and stories to convey important messages. I try to bring my authentic self into the work, and I encourage all of my clients to do the same.
