When your child is sick, it can feel like your world, and theirs, stops. Managing their social activities, academic demands, and family routines may become difficult or even impossible. On top of this, navigating the systems that are designed to help can be stressful and overwhelming. Your child may be experiencing an acute illness or injury that is interfering with life or causing distress, or they may be coping with a chronic condition and need help learning to adjust for the long term. As a pediatric psychologist, I am passionate about providing support for children, adolescents, and their families through this journey.
Using evidence-based interventions such as CBT and ACT, I support children in pursuing life while managing their medical condition. We will develop adaptive coping skills, create strategies for managing physical symptoms, and work to decrease mental health symptoms. I foster an active partnership with parents, empowering them to help their child flourish.
Starting therapy will help your child manage their condition, reduce distress, and increase their participation in daily activities, all while you learn how to best support these skills at home.
