I am JJ Rogers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with adults and couples experiencing overwhelming stress, loss, difficulty with life transitions, failure, a decline in functioning, and hopelessness. Clinically referred to as adjustment disorders, depression and anxiety, these symptoms also create relationship problems. These are generally deeply rooted in a person’s history. These are also life’s predictable interruptions in a person’s state of well being. I help my clients find a new perspective on themself and their life experience to calm and contain these interruptions.
In addition to conventional talk-therapy, I am certified in a mind-body form of psychotherapy. This integrates the client’s personal history and their physical response to life’s stressors. Together with validation, highlighting of strengths, and breathing exercises these powerful tools for healing are practiced in session and between them.
I call on my extensive training and when appropriate, my own life experiences, to create an attuned response for the client. I offer my clients an opportunity to rediscover and reclaim their own strengths and solutions. Over time, the client is then empowered to be in charge of their emotions and well being.
