My approach is highly focused on individual strengths, with the client informing where those lie. It is important to build self-esteem as well as accountability. Rapport is essential, as the process is an important partnership wherein positive change will be built through trust and honesty.
Ultimately, your treatment is your treatment. You decide the role that best facilitates the change you want, and I will always respect that. Regardless of what that role may be, you will always have a nonjudgmental and supportive teammate in your mental health.
