My work is informed by decades of experience in the professional performing arts. Skills honed in the theatre—active listening, trust-building, and authentic communication—are the basis of productive therapeutic relationships and serve my patients well. Relationships are not linear, and neither is couples therapy. The best place to start is in the here and now. Addressing what is happening in the moment leads to greater understanding, empathy, possibility, change, and a healthier future. Your relationship is unique, nuanced, and complicated. My job is to gently untangle the complex web you have woven.
I am an LMFT with an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, a BA in Biology, a Certificate in Divorce Mediation and, to mix things up a bit, a Certificate in Broadway Producing. I have extensive experience in music, voice, dance, drama, writing, and producing. Integrating art, science, warmth, humor, and optimism, I hope to be of help to you and your loved ones.
I view challenges through a systems lens. Feelings and behavior are influenced not only by the daily actions and expectations of family and friends, but by work, health, religion, culture, politics, environment, and intergenerational trauma. I am sensitive to the unique stressors experienced by performing artists and anyone navigating daily life in NYC!
