Have you recently experienced a significant loss? Are you finding yourself preoccupied with your loss & wondering how you might make it day-to-day? Feelings of grief are a result of many different types of losses(loved one, marriage, job, pregnancy, & so forth). The most common, perhaps is the loss of a loved one. While it is true that are few things in life that we will experience more intensely than the loss of a loved one, other forms of loss can be equally difficult to overcome. With most loss, compassionate processing & utilizing coping strategies are needed in order to make sense of our feelings so we can move forward healed.
Grief is a very individual experience. Personal values, spiritual beliefs, cultural influences and family traditions are different. Even people in the same family will grieve differently. The process of grieving, however, tends to follow a pattern of stages.
Understanding this process can help you make sense of the thoughts and feelings you might experience. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can make sense of your loss and move forward with a healthy perspective.
