Hello, my name is Iuliana Petre, and I am a CO LPC (LPC.0015281), and a WA LMHC (HC 60620931). In 2013, I graduated from Antioch University Seattle in Seattle, WA, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. At my counseling practice, I offer talk therapy and EMDR. Every client I work with begins as a talk therapy client. Some choose to utilize only this modality. For other clients — for whom EMDR may be appropriate — we'll engage in a conversation about using this treatment technique, after we’ve established a secure therapeutic alliance. Please note: I no longer accept insurance. Private pay only.
EMDR, is a comprehensive psychotherapy treatment technique designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories. In EMDR, we utilize bilateral stimulation and the power of one’s own brain to do the work of reprocessing and integrating past experiences that have become stuck. EMDR is also effective for anxiety, phobias, chronic pain, etc.
I practice counseling from the perspective that the answers we seek exist within us, that our work involves turning inward, unpacking our backpacks, and arriving at knowing ourselves. While I may be the therapist trained in counseling theory and practice, I don’t believe I am the expert on the lives of my clients.
