As a compassionate, thoughtful, experienced and well trained postdoctoral psychologist, I am very interested in getting to know you and your struggles. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups in many life stages, from late adolescence to older adulthood. My work is relational and collaborative, starting with creating a safe, non-judgmental space in which you can feel increasingly comfortable and open to sharing with me your symptoms, experiences, behaviors and relationship patterns. I will help you to understand and negotiate the external and internal obstacles preventing you from achieving contentment in your life.
I work collaboratively to help you deal with symptoms that have become unmanageable (e.g., anxiety, depression, panic, compulsions), work through past traumatic experiences (e.g., violence, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse and neglect), and overcome self-defeating behaviors and relationship patterns (family, parenting, intimate connections, and work).
I am empathic concerning your felt experience and see my role to be your confidante as well as someone you trust to provide productive feedback. Interpersonal Process Group
This group is for adults with various interpersonal issues, including depression, anxiety, relationships, work, and family struggles, aiming to support members through their struggles, and build insight into interpersonal relating. We may also better understand defensive reactions in interpersonal process reflecting some of our deeper emotional injuries. As we participate in and pay attention to the group process, we will discuss issues that arise in the here-and-now, and identify patterns among members and facilitators to increase awareness and learn better ways of relating. This group is ideally suited for those already participating in individual therapy.
