Whether you're starting college, changing careers, or becoming a parent, transition is hard. And major life transitions often kick up difficult emotions and memories that maybe we thought we'd already worked through. I work with clients navigating major life transitions and all that comes with them. This can include bodily changes, shifting relationships, grieving how things used to be, questioning identity, and navigating all of this without losing yourself in the process. Changes is hard, and these questions are difficult; they're also ones we can explore and work through together.
My approach is relational and psychodynamic, while integrating aspects of DBT & CBT, when appropriate. I also offer parent-infant psychotherapy, in which parent and baby are together in our baby-friendly therapy room to play, explore, and strengthen attunement and bonding between the dyad.
Together, we'll focus on your present and most pressing concerns, while dipping back into the past. Our past experiences and early relationships hold the data to help us better understand our present-day coping systems and internal narratives. With this insight, we can make lasting change within ourselves and our relationships.
