I am a licensed professional counselor with over ten years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in working with couples on premarital, relationship, and marital issues. I also work with adults with anxiety, depression, anger management, PTSD, addictive behaviors, grief, loss, and bereavement. I use The Gottman Method for marital and Prepare-Enrich for premarital counseling. I use CBT to work with clients to achieve harmony, especially in depression and anxiety. I meet clients where they are emotionally, and together we explore their life according to their comfort level to bring healing.
My view of a client’s life is like having many closed doors, and mine is to knock on those doors softly and only enter when invited. I hold those doors to be sacred and holy ground, and I work patiently and respectfully to achieve the goals set by the client. My years of experience have taught me that clients achieve change when mutual trust exists.
I have a caring heart for families. My previous training and work in Diplomacy and International relations opened my eyes to how conflicts left families in unimaginable pain. My desire from then on was to become an agent of change and hope. Counseling allowed me to pursue what I loved and valued most to bring healing to individuals and families.
