Hi, my name is Irene Velasquez, and I am an EMDR trained therapist. Some topics I like to help my clients work through are depression, anxiety low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, learning coping skills, burnout, & more. I am excited to be accepting new clients. I use person-centered talk therapy, EMDR, & a combination of different techniques from CBT and DBT at times. Each treatment plan is tailored to the needs of the client.
I use a person-centered approach, praise, & validation. I am nurturing and compassionate. I like to teach coping skills, somatic skills, mindfulness, grounding exercises, & provide resources. I love helping people and supporting them in their healing journey.
I work with the client to ask what goals they have in mind and together we make a plan to achieve those goals. Gathering history and asking questions, setting aside time at the end to learn a coping skill.
