My approach to counseling is to be warm and supportive. I strive to provide a safe and trusting environment. I incorporate elements of CBT, ACT and DBT to provide individual therapy for clients who are currently attending DBT or CBT group. Together we address harmful thoughts and behaviors that lead to depression, anxiety and substance use.
I value the significant contribution relationships can make to learning about ourselves. In therapy, people learn how their early and current relationships affect them in everyday life - including the way they handle stress and anxiety. Gaining insight about the dynamics of our relationships always leads to personal growth.
I am active during sessions, and believe therapy should not only be healing and insightful, but fun and humorous at times. I feel honored to be let into the lives of my clients.
