Ira Bindman, Ph.D. is a licensed mental health practitioner in private practice for over 30 years, specializing in both short term (goal oriented) and long term therapy. I use various techniques (e.g., guided imagery, hypnotherapy) to facilitate internal change and deal with psychological and emotional issues. I help individuals and couples heal using a gentle, supportive therapeutic approach. I believe we need to enhance our whole self, to see and respond to the challenges constantly present in our daily lives. Let me help you become aware of your inner resources so you can grow and take full advantage of life.
I prefer to do therapy with people who are aware of their issues, committed to looking honestly at themselves & willing to change the beliefs and attitudes that limit their happiness. I enjoy a dynamic relationship with my clients, give authentic feedback, deal with past trauma and focus on present problems.
My background in both psychology and education has taught me how to listen and respond to people's needs. I create a non-judgmental environment which allows space for any experience to be examined and opens the possibility for change to occur.
