I have been working in the mental health field for 16 years. People who want to focus on discovering their inner strengths and understanding how those attributes can help them overcome their current challenges will benefit greatly from my techniques. I use a strength- based team approach which simply means I see counseling as a partnership between the people I work with and myself. I believe life is a journey and together we can make the most out of yours.

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who believes that we all possess the tools to adapt and overcome the many challenges in this journey called “Life.” My mission for my clients is to address their concerns by providing an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance, empathy, honesty, genuineness, and compassion. My focus is developing a strong therapeutic alliance, by fostering a trusting relationship between client and therapist to explore client's inner strengths, decrease negative symptoms, promote personal growth, expanding their emotional awareness, and arouse empowerment to unleash their limitless potential.

The effectiveness of counseling boils down to the relationship between the client and counselor, which to me, is the most important aspect of the entire process. I am licensed in Idaho and Oregon and am doing Face to Face and Telehealth. I am located in Boise, Idaho. The last 15 of 25 years in the field have been focused on Substance Use Disorders, Trauma and Military Issues. I have been given the opportunity to be certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal Psychology and have a solid back ground in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family and Couples work, Personality Disorders, Depression, Narrative Work and Grief Counseling. We are a group of Psychotherapists who provide treatment for an extensive range of mental and emotional disorders using psychological techniques aimed to improve a person’s overall psyche. We work with adults of all ages, adolescents and children as young as four. All of our Psychotherapists are Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists with extensive training in counseling psychology. Psychotherapy is a means of intentionally using various communication methods and techniques to alleviate a person’s distress and disability, and to improve their overall well being. This may involve individuals, couples, families and/or groups.

These bumps (or mountains sometimes!) can be tough to get through. I specialize in families/couples, and I am an Idaho-licensed LMFT and Arizona-licensed LAMFT. Often clients seek therapy because they have become stuck. Sometimes relationships begin great, but life/situations cause a change to happen. We all have personal challenges, have stressful periods, or go through traumatic times. The desire to seek help to explore and process these problems can open the door to positive growth. I believe in the healing power of relationships: no matter the wounds, if all parties are willing to heal, I will help.

Kelsea has a wide range of experience providing services for clients from diverse backgrounds. She has worked with many clients who have disabilities, chronic health problems or who are in the process of adjusting to a life-changing event, illness or injury. She has also had extensive training in domestic violence response and uses those skills to help clients who need crisis intervention, safety planning, or trauma-informed care. Kelsea works to provide a safe space for clients to process life challenges and recover from trauma. She enjoys helping clients to identify their own personal values and work toward their life goals.

Life is hard. None of us get it right all the time. My goal for the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with the awareness and skills you will need to achieve the level of functioning you desire. I believe my job as your therapist is to work myself out of a job - by teaching you what I know, helping you apply it, assessing the results and adjusting where necessary.
