I have experience working with, but not limited to, divorce and separation, anxiety and depression, school and work problems, and various relationship and family dynamics.
It’s okay to not be okay. Therapy is a safe place to explore trauma, hardship, self-fulfillment and so much more. I will continually strive to make those I work with feel safe, secure, seen, and heard. Using a collaborative process, I hope to guide you along the path of gaining clarity, emphasizing your ability to tap into the resources that are already within you. All the while, allowing for space in which you decide what is best for you. I work from a non judgmental position, believing all humans deserve to be accepted exactly as they are and treated with kindness.

As a therapist I feel so fortunate to be able to walk alongside my clients as they discover skills and strengths to help them thrive. Throughout my career I have worked with individuals of all ages who have faced many challenges and traumas. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work from St. Ambrose University then worked for a local non-profit agency in a variety of roles before exploring another social work path. My passion for mental health has brought me to Bee Well Child and Family Therapy.

Hello, I am Peggy Clark. I have a license in Marriage and Family Therapy through the state of Iowa. I have been practicing for over 20 years with individuals, families, and children. I have helped many with relational issues, be it couples, parents and children of all ages. Unfortunately, I am no longer working with children under the age of 16 years. Many come to me with stresses of life, work, and personal, and traumas of all sorts that creates high anxiety and depression. I believe that all have a story to be respected, strengths to be built upon, in a team effort. I have a laid back, conversational, caring approach.

My emotions make me feel out of control. I just want to live authentically & be accepted as me, but self-doubt & fear get in my way. My family/spouse is unhealthy at best & abusive at worst. I've lived so much of my life trying to be enough for everyone else that I lost myself in the process. I'm not even sure of who I am anymore. I thought they loved me, but then how could they treat me this way? My relationship feels like a constant rollercoaster. One minute things are great & then it's terrible. Worse, I have no clue how we even got here. It feels like madness. No contact? Limited contact? I just don't know what to do!

When you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed to the point it is impacting your day-to-day life, it helps to talk with someone who is both kind and practical — offering hope and nonjudgmental support, but also collaborating with you on finding real solutions. We all need a guide sometimes when life is hard. I am the type of therapist who will provide validation when you need it but also encourage you to take charge of the things within your control. I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, trouble communicating with a partner or family, and job burnout. In particular, I enjoy working with educators at all levels.

As a counselor, my role is to help support you through your healing journey and empower you to rediscover your own unique strengths and resources as a means to promote such healing. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to share your own unique life story.

Whether online or in person, my sessions use a person and/or family centered approach that uses the mind's natural ability to heal.
Happy to offer online therapy and remote EMDR. My work is evidence-based, unique, and creative. It is grounded in behavioral change, mindfulness, and traditional talk therapy, which has been shown to effectively reduce trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, childhood behavioral disorders, and grief. Through the therapy process adults, families, and children can find a safe place to develop the skills they need to heal, to grow, and to thrive. My goal is to make each session unique to the needs of each person so they can build upon what already makes them happy.
