Integrating elements of IFS, CBT, psychodynamic, and mindfulness practices, I aim to facilitate a process with three distinct objectives: identifying and reframing negative thought patterns, developing a stronger awareness of self, and bolstering autonomy and ability in developing the skills necessary to accomplish desired goals and find wellbeing.
Clients often begin therapy from an overwhelmed, entangled headspace, knowing innately there’s something they would like to work towards, but feeling unsure of what that journey may look like. I strive to join you where you’re at, providing a safe, non-judgmental space to be heard. We will work together to uncover insights and gain clarity, drawing upon your strengths, capabilities, and sense of self. My approach is warm, conversational, and collaborative, beginning with your goals and hopes for treatment, and incorporating creative methods to work together in this pursuit. Our sessions are tailored to best suit your unique needs.

I am also trained in implementing EMDR, somatic, IFS, CBT, DBT, and psychedelic-assisted therapy.
I have been passionate about the field of psychology and counseling since I was a child. In my work I place a major focus on the therapeutic relationship, communication, and validation in treatment. I am prepared to support you in tackling the ups and downs that come with healing. Together, through mutual communication and honesty we can target the things in life that are holding the client back, whether that be trauma, relational issues, sexuality/gender concerns, life changes, etc.

My style is warm and curious and draw on psychodynamic frameworks, IFS, and EMDR in my work.
The decision to begin therapy is rarely easy, but once you begin you may be surprised by the changes that unfold. Finding a therapist who helps you feel safe, supported, and challenged is central to this process. I've been fortunate to work with a wide range of people, including those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, sexual issues, sexual and gender identity exploration, health concerns, artistic blockages, addiction, parenting, and fertility issues.

I am trained in the following therapy Models: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Body-Centered Gestalt Therapy, EMDR and the Intuitive Healers Training Program.
Life often feels harder than it needs to. We have so many balls in the air, and constant juggling often leads to anxiety, self-doubt, and anger. It can be hard to be a good parent and spouse, to meet the expectations of friends colleagues and family, all while trying to meet our own needs. No wonder we find ourselves lost, unfulfilled and disconnected. If it seems like you don't know which way to turn, you've come to the right place.

I am trained in modalities such as IFS and CBT and can interweave models to best suit you.
I have been working in private practice for the last ten years. A common type of client I see is someone who did quite well academically as a student and faces challenges when it comes to the more nebulous and messy arenas of adult life, particularly in careers and relationships. Oftentimes, the questions and choices one faces with no clear roadmap can feel overwhelming and isolating. I specialize in areas such as dating, attachment issues, polyamory, struggling with a break-up/divorce, infidelity, boundary setting with loved ones, job stress and confusion around career path, sexual identity, and generalized anxiety and depression.

I am a capable, educated, experienced clinician, trained in specialized techniques (EMDR, Internal family systems, sensorimotor psychotherapy, coherence therapy) that reaches depths not always gotten to by talk therapy.
Many people come to me because they feel "stuck" despite having been in therapy that is primarily talking with the therapist. They still struggle with not being able to ask for what they want, set the boundaries they need, feel depressed and anxious, have negative- critical self talk making them feel unappreciated, unlovable, unworthy, frustrated, and dissatisfied with who they are They are struggling in relationships with friends, family, and colleagues. They want to be free of their emotional suffering, negative beliefs, and maladaptive behaviors to be fully present in their life and relationships and have clarity & confidence.

I am informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), therapy focused on helping clients identify and connect with different, sometimes unknown, parts of themselves.
Are you looking to improve your relationship to food and your body? Are you looking to form a more intentional and caring relationship with yourself? Are you looking to express your authentic feelings, needs, and desires? Many who struggle with issues around food and body image also have past experiences of shame, pain, and trauma, which can lead to feeling a disconnection, resentment, or lack of safety within your own body. If you’ve been getting through each day in survival mode and are looking to engage in life more meaningfully but not sure where to start? I am here to help you begin your journey toward self-acceptance.

My relational, strength-focused, culturally sensitive approach integrates Western and Eastern philosophies, drawing from psychodynamic theories, existential psychotherapy, Gestaltism, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Wherever you are in life, we will create an intentional space to explore your struggles, feelings, aspirations, and the parts of yourself that long to be recognized and nurtured. As an immigrant, Third Culture Kid (TCK), and former international student, I believe our identities are intricate and multifaceted. To truly comprehend ourselves and lead a fulfilling life, we must consider the diverse contexts that shape us. My past careers as a journalist and teacher have shown me that while our narratives are unique, we all share a desire for self-understanding, insight into the human experience, and meaningful connections.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapists

What is Internal Family Systems therapy?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of talk therapy that focuses on sub-personalities, or “families,” within a person, which may be made up of wounded parts and unpleasant emotions like anger and shame. These sub-personalities can come into conflict with each other and with an individual’s core Self, leaving the person feeling detached from positive traits such as the “8 C’s” of confidence, calmness, creativity, clarity, curiosity, courage, compassion, and connectedness. By healing a patient’s wounded parts, a therapist aims to restore balance and bring on positive change.

How does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

An IFS therapist will work with a patient to identify their particular sub-personalities, recognize the emotions powering them, and release them. By doing so, the patient should become more able to address any underlying problems their sub-personalities may have been trying to protect them from. Ultimately, a patient discovers ways to manage internal and external conflicts on their own, through techniques such as relaxation exercises, journaling, and making charts depicting the relationships between their core Self and their distinct parts.

Does Internal Family Systems therapy work?

IFS therapy has been shown to help people address conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, fears and phobias, trauma, and substance use disorders. Some research has also found that it can help individuals deal with symptoms of physical health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain, everyday functioning, depressive feelings, and low self-compassion. There are some conditions for which IFS treatment, specifically discussions of one’s “parts,” may be less appropriate, such as schizophrenia or other states that involve psychosis or paranoia.

How long does Internal Family Systems therapy take?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for IFS therapy. After becoming comfortable with a therapist and the core concepts of IFS, some patients quickly make progress. While experiences vary, most will find that it is a relatively longer-term therapy, involving months and sometimes years of sessions.
