Anxiety and trauma are the wound.
I'm a Harvard and Stanford-trained psychologist who helps people with anxiety stop pushing through stress and burnout and live more. Are you so good at pushing through problems that no one notices how much you're struggling? If nothing changed, life would be just plain overwhelming...feeling lost and trapped... and suffocated. It’s miserable feeling like anxiety is taking over, interfering with relationships, work, and feeling just burned out. Enough is enough! If you’re here, you can likely relate. We'll work together to create a life you don't dread.

I have made it my goal to meet my clients where they are on the path of recovery from addiction, trauma and other illnesses.
I am a LCSW, LCAC and EMDR certified with over 9 years of experience with many success stories such as, helping clients move from despair to freedom to live the life they deserve by conquering demons of addiction and/or trauma, overcoming the fears of anxiety, the stronghold of depression, no longer lost in the fog of dissociation, in self-control and learning to love self for the first time after years of trauma and abuse. I have been blessed when children and spouses of clients have expressed their thanks for helping their loved one get on the right path of recovery from addiction and trauma.

THANK YOU for being brave enough to show up! In this office, I employ leading treatments for trauma that use neural networks of the brain and associated energies in the body to heal your system the way only your brain/body know how.
THERAPY: I hear so much negativity in our field about work with people. But - I am amazed by some of the people that step foot into my office. I am in awe of their ability to smile through pain. I feel blessed that I get to share in their strong, resilience and desire to grow and change. I learn so much from them. I’m also frustrated with societies message that emotions like anger, resentfulness and jealousy are abnormal for us to feel. Sometimes they interfere with other parts of our life. These people that I encounter on a day-to-day basis are amazing, beautiful people. To all of them I say-

I have experience in helping clients with trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, finding self esteem, and building confidence.
In my practice, I focus on walking with clients through some of the most difficult events in their lives. Whether you've considered an experience “ traumatic” or not, if it still haunts you or causes you uncomfortable physical responses like a racing heart or nausea, these can be treated with EMDR or Brainspotting.I, myself, am a trauma survivor, which is why I became a counselor/coach in the first place. I want to help others heal as I have. Utilizing modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can unlock sensations of safety, clarity and freedom in life.

A central part of my practice is to provide support and encouragement in these moments while also helping you to move toward greater clarity, calm, and well-being.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
