Hello! It's great to meet you. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Indiana, I've been serving clients for the past 18 years after graduating from Indiana University in 2006. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Ball State University in 1991.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing in-person and virtual therapy to youth and adults. My goal as a therapist is to build connections within the family structure while aligning with individual client goals. It is important to me that my clients feel safe in treatment regardless of background, orientation, and family structure. I enjoy working with adolescents through young adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, and depression. I also work with couples who are wanting to reconnect within their relationship.

Therapy is a process and a journey. It takes courage and commitment. For many people, walking through a counselor's door is a huge step. It can feel hopeful and scary at the same time. For others who already have some experience with therapy, they may be looking for someone who can give a different perspective or address a different issue. My approach to counseling is holistic: mind, body and spirit. My goal is to create a safe environment where trust can build and issues can be addressed.

It is challenging, vulnerable work to open up to a stranger, and I do not take that lightly. I understand and appreciate the courage it takes to select and trust a therapist, and that's why I put the relationship first. The most important thing about therapy is that you feel comfortable with your therapist. I strive to bring forward my genuine self and to provide you with honesty, security and integrity throughout your therapeutic process. Whatever you bring to the table, I want to partner with you to tackle your concerns together.

We all go through seasons in our lives where it would be beneficial to have someone come along side and help us get out of our own muck. I work with a variety of people but particularly like helping people get past traumatic events or to have better relationships with others.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with over fifteen years of experience working with teens, couples, and families. I have been working in Indianapolis for over 10 years and am familiar with the city and its resources. I specialize in working with teens, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, marital therapy, and co-parenting. Knowing that people's schedules are hectic, I try to accommodate clients' needs by meeting clients on weekends.

I have a passion for working with children, teenagers, and entire family systems. Improving communication skills, navigating life transitions, and developing adequate coping mechanisms are just a few of the many topics I enjoy focusing on within the therapeutic setting. I have a family-centered approach, meaning I aim to include families in sessions with their children and/or teenagers as much as possible. I'm a firm believer that you can only see so much change in a child or teenager's life if they aren't allowing their family to work through those changes with them.

I have been involved in therapy for almost twenty years working in areas of criminal justice, social services, mental health, welfare and addiction treatment. I have enjoyed working with all age clients-each having different challenges. Although I enjoy working with all clients, areas of specialization: Adolescent behavioral issues, gambling and addictive behaviors, family and marriage counseling. I encourge clients to work on two main objectives: Self Empowerment and Acceptance of who they choose to be. I do not judge a person because of their concerns, I try to help them learn the tools to avoid future problems.

I have helped many people from ages 12 to 80+ 'weather a personal crisis' regardless of circumstances; in addition, I have acquired special,training in working with returning military personnel in coping with their re-entry issues as well as helping them take 'next steps'. I am also an expert in career 'direction' as well as 'redirection', and regardless of age, I seek those people as clients who desire to become or retain an 'open mind'! I encourage 'self-esteem' as a precious commodity and promote one's own goals and personal values as their keys to happiness.

I specialize in working with those with anxiety and depression. I also have a particular focus on family structure as appropriate. I focus on the well being of the client and their environment. I use a strength based approach to encourage personal growth.

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. By using Cognitive Processing Therapy and Exposure Therapy, I treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have knowledge working with individuals that have experienced traumas related to military, sexual trauma, and stressful events such as COVID-19. I also have expertise with using Parent Child Interaction Therapy to work with parents of children with emotional and behavior issues. I assist with helping you bond, cope and have more confidence as a parent.

I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degree from Indiana University. I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF). I facilitate BOLD™, a courage building curriculum specifically designed for mature adolescents and young adults based on the research and books of Brené Brown. I utilize the work of Brené Brown in Daring Way™ & Rising Strong™ designed to help individuals explore areas related to their own relationship to vulnerability, shame, and wholeheartedness.
