I employ integrative wholistic techniques that help to immediately reduce anxiety/ induce relaxation/relieve stress/trauma/increase self-esteem, & change how you look at/experience life in a more easy/effortless/enjoyable way.
What? Me . .traumatized? Surely it's not as bad as. . someone else and Their experience. Trauma comes in many forms and disguises. The back part of the brain subconsciously feels we are in a battle or there's a bear in the cave. Our defenses/ways of coping and triggers arise in ways that aren't helpful or productive/controllable. Reactions/responses seem to come from out of nowhere. These can be signs/symptoms of anxiety, depression, and overwhelm. All can be addressed and shifted in counseling, particularly through EMDR. I am certified in that field and have found it to be life-changing for many.

I am an integrative clinician, but I primarily use a type of therapy called Internal Family Systems to help you understand contradictory voices in your head and learn to trust your intuition.
My goal as your therapist is to help you deeply know yourself and build meaningful connections with others. Many people come to therapy because they feel afraid to show the world their true selves, feel intense pressure to succeed, or have internalized messages that they are unloveable or unworthy. Many struggle with an inner critic and "irrational" fears. You might also use defensiveness, fear of intimacy, and shutting down to protect yourself from others when you feel unsafe. Instead of fighting internal battles and living in cycles of avoidance, I help you approach yourself and your patterns with curiosity and compassion.

Using an integrative systemic approach, we identify undesired thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns, caused by uninvited distress and experiences.
Transformation occurs when you choose to be intentional and commit to change, even when the journey is unclear or unknown. Approaching change through therapy, unearths pathways to healing. Within the therapy process, my goal is to create an open-minded, safe, and non- judgmental space, that compassionately addresses your concerns. I help adult individuals, couples, and groups who are seeking to redefine adverse perceptions, improve poor boundaries, behavior, coping skills and practices, discover optimal functioning levels, explore the ways one experiences connection, identity, intimacy, and relationships that bring them joy.

I apply an integrative therapy approach to help clients work through and conquer challenges.
Finding a good fit in a counselor is an essential component of feeling positive about your counseling experience. Having a guide, a confidante and someone to help you find direction and set your course can provide you with the support needed to navigate through uncharted waters in life. It takes courage to face tough things in life, to ask for help, and to take action, in order to achieve new goals in your life. I find that the openness and trust built between counselor and client is the key to feeling like you can fully be yourself and share openly, without fear of judgment or negative impact on your personal relationships.

My approach is integrative and collaborative.
Life changes and trauma can lead to disconnection from ourselves and others. This disconnection can manifest as anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Through therapy, we can untangle the changes and trauma so we can truly hear ourselves. At each step, I will check in with you and guide the pacing to fit your needs and goals. (See my website for more information.) Authorized to practice in all PsyPact states via telepsychology.

Integrative Therapists
What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
