We offer a safe environment for you to share your story. People describe me as empathetic, compassionate and relational. As we work together, you can develop healthier coping skills and work through unresolved issues. I value the client/therapist relationship and provide space for clients to explore and give meanings to unconscious patterns of behavior.

Hi! My name is Jessica and I am originally from Atlanta, GA and attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) where I received a bachelor’s degree in Communications. I worked for several years in the nonprofit development field before deciding that I wanted to return to school part time to pursue a Masters of Social Work degree. During this time, I lived and worked in inner city Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and then did some rural social service work in Central Pennsylvania. These different experiences have impacted the way I view therapy today. I believe in a person-centered approach to therapy and meeting clients where they are.

You want something to change, but don't know where to start. Maybe it's how you feel: Sometimes your thoughts, feelings, emotions, stories, and sensations try to get in the way of moving toward what's meaningful to you. Maybe it's how your relationship feels: Sometimes the communication patterns between the two of you can erode trust and commitment, leaving your relationship bond damaged or broken. Maybe you're haunted by your past: Like broken glass, many traumatic memories can be fragmented and jagged, stored in your mind and body, emotionally wounding you over and over again, until you're left dejected and exhausted.

There's a beautiful passage by Jacquelyn Small that sums up the way I view and practice therapy: "When therapeutic relating occurs, both parties have dissolved the boundary between the one needing help and the other offering it; they are simply two beings bouncing off each other in truth; We all just need clear people to bounce off of so we can see our own light." I strongly believe that we're the experts of our own lives and sometimes we just need a safe, non-judgmental person to see us, believe our experiences and remind us that we're deserving and healing is possible.

I believe that part of the human experience is to weather change. This can feel overwhelming, lonely, or confusing, and you don't have to go through it alone. Searching for a therapist can feel daunting, especially if you're already struggling. My approach to therapy is to walk alongside my clients in their journey as a fellow traveler, providing guidance and evidence-based psychotherapy theories along the way. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I can help you untangle complicated emotions to reveal a sense of purpose in your life.
