I am a bilingual (native Spanish-speaker) Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in working with multicultural clients. I work with individuals and families going through various types of immigration cases and assisting them with emotional support as well as documentation of evidence for their case. In addition, I have experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, life transitions, cultural adjustments, relationship/marital issues, and trauma. I believe in the strengths of each client and try to build upon the resources that each client already has in building motivation to continue to make changes.

If you're looking for an advanced-trained EMDR Certified Therapist or Consultant (CIT), I would love the opportunity to work with you! I have shifted my practice to only EMDR work: Individual sessions and Intensives Experiences (3 or 4 hours). Intensives include diagnostics, our 8:3 Guidebook, therapy aides, and also include ILF Neurofeedback to decrease emotional dysregulation, dissociation and strengthen the Default Mode Network which plays a major role in our self-concept. Intensives are an excellent option to transform your life without weekly appointments.

Life can be difficult to deal with. Issues from our past or on-going relationship problems can cause us considerable stress. Issues of shame and guilt can make us to feel depressed and anxious and keep us from living to our fullest potential. As an experienced therapist working with clients who are coping with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, I have worked extensively with adults of all ages. Caring, empathetic & dynamic, I work diligently with each of my clients to help them achieve a better quality of life. Developing a strong working relationship with my clients is a priority, thus my clients do well in therapy. A key component of therapy is to listen to you, the client, and to offer a safe and welcoming place for clients to be heard.

My education includes a PhD in Religious Philosophy, a Master of Divinity, and Master of Science in Psychology, and I am working on a PhD in Psychology. Although my schooling may sound impressive, I credit most of my ability in working the field is due to my upbringing and a legitimate concern for people. I also have a background in chemical dependency treatment.

I am an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of providing direct, clinical services to individuals and families struggling with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric issues. It has been my experience that fear or avoidance of therapy occurs when people are reluctant to talk about past experiences, which can increase emotional pain. This can leave someone feeling helpless, hopeless and scared of the unknown.
