Having been a practicing psychologist since 1984 I have had thousands of clients. I firmly believe most individuals, with some exceptions, know the answer to their problems but just can't think of it or put it into workable action. My job is to assist the client in narrowly defining their clinical question (what they want to work on) and a metric driven method for knowing when we are improving their situation with with measureable objectives. I provide a great deal of transparency in my therapy including outlining the first ten sessions in detail before we start, my recommended reading list, providing detailed handout sheets

Note: Others in my collaborative practice are taking new clients. It is my belief that everyone can benefit from counseling, and it takes a strong person to seek out assistance when needed. I believe we are not made to live in isolation, and we do best when we are part of a community. By recognizing the events that have formed us in life, we can learn from them and become a better version of ourselves. In order for this process to take place, I strive to create a comfortable and safe environment that supports increased insight and growth.

Com’on let’s be honest .... relationships can be stressful! Some of us might decide to suffer in silence, share details with people who don't support us in healthy ways, or even force ourselves to "accommodate" our partner's needs without being poured into. Growth takes longer to produce when we continue with the same attitudes, beliefs, and tactics. Ready to try something new?...

I believe people seek out counseling for one of two reasons. First, they find themselves in a crisis situation with their life out of balance. This may be due to the discomfort of anxiety or depression, an out of control addiction, the stress of an unsatisfying relationship, a child who is struggling or the heartache of grief. Secondly, their life may be in balance but they are at a decision point or feel a need for self-improvement including career concerns, a desire to improve a relationship or a need to explore obtaining their fullest potential. Both are equally valid reasons to seek the assistance of a caring professional.

You want to appear successful & like you have it “all together” but deep down are struggling to feel confident in who you are or cope with challenging experiences that have occurred in your life. Are you a woman whose life looks “good” from the outside, and yet it still feels like something is missing? You’ve accomplished a lot in life, but don’t feel the sense of fulfillment you expected. A big life change—maybe a breakup, new job, new marriage, change in family dynamic, or move—has highlighted the fact that you’re still not as happy or content as you want to be. Something is telling you that you need to make a shift.

I help people struggling with stress, depression, or anxiety as well as relational conflicts within families and couples. I understand the challenges in getting help to get "unstuck" and realize it takes courage to ask for help. However, if you are like many others, you are likely tired of dealing with the same problems and getting the same results. I also help others who avoid dealing with the problem and are finally ready to begin a new life. Finding the right person to guide you should not be taken lightly.

Life can be incredibly challenging, especially when you're navigating transitions, managing stress, or searching for meaning and purpose. You might feel overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by sadness, or unsure how to move forward in your career or personal life. It can be a chaotic world out there. The demands of work, financial struggles, unresolved grief, and constant stress can profoundly affect our emotional and relational well-being. Sometimes, we need someone to come alongside us and guide us toward a better path. Hi, I'm Teresa. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, and author. I'm also a marriage and family therapist in private practice, with a heart for helping others achieve the emotional and relational well-being they've always desired. Imagine a world where stress is minimized, conflicts are resolved, estranged relationships are reconciled, and emotional wounds are healed.
