Life can come with many unexpected obstacles which can cause some overwhelming experiences. Often times, our instinct is to retreat when faced with negative experiences or bury them deep inside. Some of us can feel like if we seek help, we will be a burden to others which makes sitting with that feeling even more difficult. As an African American woman, I understand the importance of having someone to simply be a source of healing and support when you're tired of fighting to move forward alone. I'm here to serve clients on a journey towards restoration and relief in a collaborative and safe environment.
I enjoy taking a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) approach which helps clients eliminate unhelpful cycles or behaviors and replace them with healthier habits. Along with CBT, I specifically enjoy introducing clients to mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing and meditation as it has been proven to reduce symptoms of anxiety, anger and depression.
Something as simple as being in the moment can be taken for granted, I aim to create a comforting space for clients by being present and allowing open expression within sessions.
