Early life experiences profoundly determine how we relate to ourselves and others long into adulthood. “Am I enough? Am I inherently broken? Am I real?” All of our stories begin the same way: as children seeking care, safety, and stability. Our greatest influences on our sense of self come first through our relationships with primary caregivers and then through others. Often suffering doesn’t start with us but is a cycle that is passed down. Our families at best not having these resources for themselves, and at worst passing onto us trauma that becomes an internalized part of our selves and our relationship patterns.
So often joy, spontaneity, and imagination are disrupted by traumatic life experiences. Beginning to orient our minds and our bodies towards safety in the here and now is so crucial to healing. With the support of creative and evidence based trauma therapies, it is my honor to join you and offer skillful guidance on the path to reclaiming your inner spark.
The road to breaking the cycle of complex trauma begins with a wish to heal yourself and willingness to do the work. All of our work is relational, and as our secure internal relationship develops, we gain wisdom and clarity about what we have been through, restoring our sense of self and reconnecting with the wild and wonderful parts of who we truly are.
