 My goal is to provide each client with an emotionally safe environment where they feel comfortable exploring even the biggest challenges, whether it is how to manage overwhelming emotions such as anxiety or depression, rebuild a more honest sense of identity, learn to recognize and fight unhealthy or toxic patterns in life & relationships, confront past trauma or abuse, or other flavors of struggle. Many of my clients battle mood disorders, daunting life transitions, relationship issues, as well as cultural issues, LGBTQ integration struggles, grief/loss, trauma, & body image discomfort/disordered eating.

I am a Bilingual (Spanish and English) Licensed Social Worker who strives to help others find healing. I specialize in trauma-focused therapeutic practices and Evidence-Based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic therapy, and attachment-based therapy (ABT). In addition to trauma work, I specialize in treating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems. I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence, anxiety, depression, and dissociative disorders.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 15 years of psychotherapy experience. I received dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Women’s Studies from Loyola University, Chicago. I previously worked as a hospice and palliative care social worker for 7 years at Midwest Palliative and Hospice CareCenter (now Journeycare) where I provided care for individuals and families coping with with terminal and life limiting illnesses. I was a therapist at Thrive Counseling Center in Oak Park for 8 years, working with older adults and also doing individual and family therapy with adults; I also started a grief and loss support group there.

The central focus of my practice is the treatment of Relationship Issues including Marital/Couples' Issues and Parent-Child Conflicts, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, and Anger Control Problems.

Marilyn is a Board Certified Art Therapist specializing in trauma-informed care and abuse recovery work. Marilyn has extensive experience working with adults and adolescents fleeing and recovering from domestic violence and sexual abuse, substance use recovery, depression, and anxiety. Marilyn also specializes in work with the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities and follows strengths-based, person-centered, empowerment-focused modalities.

Having more than 25-years experience with issues most often brought to therapy, I see our work together as a healing process and sacred journey of the soul with my role being guide, witness and companion on the path towards wholeness, self-empowerment and self-realization. It's often a journey into the unconscious using dreams and one's creative process. This brings a deep commitment to my own growth as well. Beginning in the addictions field and continually striving to deepen my knowledge of the alchemy of healing I am also a Jungian analyst.

Amy Druzik is a Licensed Professional Therapist who brings with her 15+ years of experience in diverse therapeutic settings- in community social work and counseling experience. She has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies. Her experience includes work in domestic violence shelters, a child/adolescent residential center, in local high schools with students, and in private practice counseling firms. Her therapeutic approach is centered around her ability to build a strong empathetic and trusting relationship with each individual client.

I am an experienced therapist who works with people of all ages and with a variety of presenting concerns. I use multiple therapeutic approaches paired with a good sense of humor to provide comprehensive mental health care to all. I work with people with depression, anxiety, substance abuse issues, difficulties with stress management skills, relationship problems, and more. My work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker has focused on working with individuals on their mental health and substance use recovery. My experience has brought me to work with many life transitions and stressors including: substance use, mental health, religious deconstruction, pre-natal and post-partum counseling, domestic violence survivors and criminal justice-involved individuals.

I am passionate about and specialize in working with adults who have experienced past or recent trauma (including, but not limited to, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse) who find that the past continues to affect their present. I am an LGBT+ ally and have an interest in being able to support this community. I utilize a combination of both solution focused talk therapy and EMDR to assist with processing through past and recent traumas. If you already have a primary therapist and need EMDR in addition, I am able to provide this type of support as well.

My approach to therapy is holistic and collaborative. With a listening ear, my commitment to you is to use the knowledge, insight, perspective and tools I have learned as a professional therapist to partner with you to gain greater self-awareness, manage stress more effectively and be empowered to find positive paths forward.
