I enjoy working with individuals that are ready to do something different. Often a person gets stuck in feeling the insanity of doing the same thing over and over again waiting for things to change. Only by making a change in your behavior can you expect a different outcome, some people need support to make a change that is lasting.

What stories are you telling yourself about who you are, how you got here, or what comes next? So much of who we are is made up of the world we live in, with all of its influences, mirrors, and connections. Maybe you're looking for someone to help unhook you from those unhelpful stories, or maybe you're in need of space to explore new ideas. Whatever the case, I'm glad you're here.

My passion for psychology was deeply inspired by Maya Angelou's courageous journey. Her emotional vulnerability and determination to share her story for the purpose of healing resonates deeply with me. Witnessing her strength and fearlessness in confronting her trauma has been truly inspiring. 24 years ago, I began my clinical journey, drawn by the transformative power of creative expression, just like Maya Angelou. Her ability to heal through writing has shown me the incredible potential for healing within each individual. I am committed to guiding others on their journey towards healing, drawing from extensive clinical experience.

Welcome! I’m so glad you have found your way here. Often we get swept up in the competing demands around us and forgo what we need. We can lose ourselves without even realizing it or maybe we never even had the chance in the first place. Before we know it, we are stuck thinking, "Why can’t I seem to do what’s most important to me? What is most important to me anyway?" My hope is that together we can find the way through to heal and create a life you want to live. I think of my role as a guide offering a new perspective. A light in the dark. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and grief.

My focus is depression, anxiety, grief, spirituality, stress, caregivers, career, relationships, and women's issues.
Everybody has issues in their life and could use a helpful someone to talk to. Sometimes our struggles go beyond the help of a friend or family member. It takes courage to reach out and I do not take that lightly. Primarily using CBT (cognitive-behavioral) and CCT (client-centered) therapies I help you navigate life's challenges. I let the session happen naturally and you get to talk about whatever is on your mind. You will never have to go anywhere you are not ready to go. I am here to walk beside you in your journey.

I also support clients with perfectionism, health concerns, grief/loss, poor work-life balance, difficulties boundary setting, and/or a desire to communicate more effectively.
Adulting is hard! Sometimes it might feel like you’re on a roller coaster when experiencing the challenges adulthood might bring. Different moments of adulthood can bring big transitions you're trying to adjust to. Maybe you're experiencing feelings of anxiety, burn out, depression, overwhelm, stress, hopeless, and/or like you're "stuck". Perhaps you want a change but don't know where to start. That's where therapy comes in! How you're feeling today doesn't have to be permanent - change can happen. And that change can begin today.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
