My primary areas of specialty include: grief, depression, anxiety, self-harm, substance/drug abuse, difficult life stressors/circumstances, relationship issues, and family issues.
Life can be incredibly challenging and scary at times. Sometimes it can feel as if you are walking through it alone, unsure of which direction to head. Therapy is a great place to find direction. In therapy, I believe in the value of a supportive, trusting relationship between myself and my clients. My goal is to make sure my clients feel safe, comfortable, and understood. I feel that therapy is a partnership between therapist and client, working together while navigating through difficulties and struggles. I take pride in developing a strong relationship with my clients so that they feel confident in their treatment journey.

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking help for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, parenting, eating disorders, and codependency. I tend to combine treatment approaches (i.e. cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, psychodynamic) to fit the need of the client. I see my role as coming alongside each individual on their walk of life, and feel privileged to be invited into the personal space of my clients.

I have been able to help people who are struggling with an array of personal issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, LGBTQ, caregiver stress, and end of life issues.
I approach the therapeutic relationship from a client-centered lens with an integrative treatment approach. This means that I work with each client to develop a unique treatment plan to address their specific needs. I do not utilize a one size fits all approach and I believe that the client is just as important in this process as the therapist is. I examine all aspects of a client’s perspective including the systems that impact them. Treating the whole person is an important aspect for me in my therapeutic engagement with clients. I believe that every person has value and is worthy of kindness.

I believe that empathetic presence within a non-judgmental relationship is what makes therapy so powerful.
Living well is an extremely difficult affair. Whether a hard relationship, a traumatic event, or a rough season of life that makes little sense - there is hope. As a lover of stories, I have found that the most potent ones often lie buried beneath layers of pain, guilt, and shame, where they subconsciously influence the way we think, feel, and connect with others. The process of healing can only begin as we tell the very stories that bring us pain and choose to love the parts of ourselves that may seem most frightening. Whatever you're facing, I know having a safe space to better understand your world will make it more manageable.

I believe trust is the foundation for a successful therapeutic relationship.
I believe that understanding one's perception is essential to understanding one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In order to make positive changes, it is very important to understand how one perceives experiences and the reasons why. Therefore, I feel that increased self-awareness and personal growth are integral parts of the counseling process.

All couples get into negative cycles with each other from time to time; however, when they become habitual they are very destructive to a relationship.
At The Marriage Clinic we have been saving and strengthening marriages for over 35 years. We understand how hard it is for partners to feel alone in a relationship that was once so close, or to feel they are always letting their partner down or not good enough no matter what they do. We also know how difficult it is for couples who feel they constantly fight with each other, sometimes over seemingly small things or having the same fights over and over.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
