I'm a compassionate clinical therapist with a diverse background in supporting individuals of all ages, including those with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, autism (ASD), intellectual/developmental disabilities, as well as clients experiencing chronic pain. With a focus on both children and adults, I bring several years of experience in providing comprehensive mental health care across inpatient, therapeutic day schools, PHP/IOP, and outpatient settings.

Life has a way of altering our plans. As a clinician, I understand that there is no greater disability or limitation than the inability to see yourself in your greatest light. My objective as a clinician is to provide multifaceted intervention and rehabilitation skills, as well as training and empowerment to individuals, families, and groups, in order to help them achieve their mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. As a mental health and rehabilitation counselor, I am always looking for ways to innovate, support, and overcome the challenges that could hinder your abilities and mindset.

H.E.L.P.'s managing owner and Chief Clinical Officer is Dr. Karen McCurtis Witherspoon, a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois who has thousands of clinical hours performing assessments with children and adults for the past decade. Her clinical practice focuses on psychological testing, parenting evaluations, and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. The H.E.L.P. LLC consulting team is a multidisciplinary one: there are psychologists, clinical counselors, substance abuse counselors, social workers, educators and a naturopath on the team. Appointments are available in the Hyde Park Office in Chicago, or the suburban office in South Holland, IL.
