Hello, my name is Rocky Mays and I am currently accepting new clients. I have a sliding scale depending on household income ranging from $80-$130. I offer in-person and virtual appointments in the afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. I specialize in working with teens, adults, parents, veterans, seniors, and couples on a wide range of identified concerns. I am currently a counselor for the Federal Government. My experiences also include working with youth in the justice system, providing clinical services for treatment centers, and working with veterans and their families struggling with various conditions.

I recently earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I have experience working with adults and teens in an outpatient setting. A priority of mine is helping clients develop healthy coping mechanisms to reduce stress, depression, anxiety, and burnout. Everyone’s healing journey is unique, so I utilize a multi-dimensional approach, incorporating both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with a person-centered approach.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Child Studies and a master’s degree in Social Work. Children and adolescents experience a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficulty regulating emotions, and challenges with impulse control. These issues make it difficult to deal with unfortunate but common factors, like family or sibling conflict, parental divorce, or unexpected loss. Many children respond to these issues and factors with less-than-desirable behaviors, such as electronic/video game addiction, educational challenges, difficulty making friends, substance abuse issues, or destructive and defiant behaviors.
