Due to the high demand for effective group therapy, at this time I am only accepting group therapy clients. Group therapy is often the answer for people who have read a million self help books, have been in one-on-one therapy for years, and have tried all kinds of meds, but their anxiety hasn't gotten better. My groups are a good fit for anyone who believes 3 devastating myths about mental health: 1) I'm the only one who has this problem, 2)I am crazy or will go crazy 3) my symptoms are so severe, so unique, so chronic that I am incurable.

Dr. Brandt works from a research-based approach to therapy, focusing on education, skill-building and evidence-based interventions such as EMDR. Her approach is goal-oriented and helps clients move quickly through their "stuckness".

I am passionate and knowledgeable working with those addicted to a variety of substances, including alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and prescription medications. I also help heal the relationships impacted by the substance abuse. I am well-versed in support groups as well as other recovery and spiritual programs supporting recovery. I understand the challenging dynamics of recovery and can help through that journey. I utilize an empathetic, solution-focused approach to working with my clients, and striving to match my clinical style to the needs of you the client, resulting in a unique relationship.

I have been a therapist for 14 years and worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. In the past several years, I have focused on working with adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, poor self-esteem, life transitions, abuse, generational trauma, infertility, and parenting. Together we gain insight into their lives by identifying changes they would like to make, how the past impacts the present, and work towards healing and happiness. I work with all races and religions and am aware of my privilege, which is open for discussion as to how it will impact our therapy.

My idea of an ideal client is one who is brave enough to ask for help. We are not born with innate problem solving skills in all areas of life. Every one of us is unique and have different experiences and outlooks on life. When there is a lack of cohesion in ones life or struggles in relationships, emotional issues, we may need to reach out to a professional for guidance. Karina loves working with adult clients struggling with trauma as a result of interpersonal violence (ie: domestic violence, sexual abuse, narcissistic abuse...etc.) Karina also enjoys working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and PTSD. Dr. Amanda Skierkiewicz specializes in working with pediatric clients with learning disabilities and difficulties, executive dysfunction, and social emotional challenges. Dr. Amanda is extremely passionate about her work in school advocacy and consultation. She worked as Nationally Certified School Psychologist in her previous role. Her role allowed her to establish an extensive knowledge of academic support systems, IEPs, and 504s. This background also allows for a seamless integration of evaluation results and findings into practical, school-friendly recommendations for interventions to maximize each individual’s potential.
