Katie graduated from DePaul University with her BA in psychology in 2008 and Loyola University of Chicago, School of Social work in 2012 with her MSW. Katie has experience with a wide variety of clients including: Military Veterans/families, inpatient and outpatient hospitalization, and clients with legal involvement. Katie assists her clients move toward healing and reaching personal goals to improve overall quality of life.

I specialize in women's mental health, including but not limited to, anxiety, OCD and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist, through Postpartum Support International. Providing therapy to women who are struggling during pregnancy, postpartum and infertility and loss is a main focus of my treatment. I also hold certifications in both domestic violence and sexual assault crisis intervention. Additionally, I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), effective for both anxiety and OCD.

In my practice, I provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling for ages 4-60 years of age. I have high levels of competence ranging from behavioral/conduct issues, adjustment disorders, high functioning Autism, blended family/divorce issues, ADHD, self esteem issues, relational aggression/bullying, anxiety, depression, Bipolar and other mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, marital issues/relational issues, life transition and a myriad of other complex challenges.

I Have worked in the areas of substance abuse and mental health for the past 29 years. I work with clients between the ages of 16 and 60. I have a strong interests in addictions, impulse control and personality disorders. I have sucessfully guided both individuals and couples through very difficult times in their lives and have seen many of them reach their highest potential in life. Steve currently practices as a high school social worker working with students with IEPs and general education students. Steve currently works with adolescents, families and adults with a range of mental health concerns including ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum, obsessions, anger management, and interpersonal conflicts.
