Cultural expectations around gender can have a deep impact on individuals. Men are just as likely to struggle with mental health issues including depression, suicidal thinking, and addictions, but are often far less likely to seek help. I work with men to break through the rigid boundaries of traditional cultural ideas of masculinity to learn to have better relationships with friends and loved ones and a better quality of life. Women also have their own set of struggles, which can sometimes be complicated by gender expectations. I work with women to help them recognize their own power and talents and learn to trust themselves more.

Pamela Zika is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Illinois State University. Pamela believes that a good therapeutic relationship is paramount in making positive life changes. Her empathetic, non-judgmental, and welcoming personality creates a safe and comfortable environment for all clients during counseling sessions. Pamela helps people clarify, envision, and obtain their life aspirations and goals.

I believe that everyone has experiences and beliefs that shape who they are. My therapeutic approach is strengths based and built on getting to know and understand my client so that we can build a trusting relationship. I want to meet people where they are at and help people reach their goals and manage their mental health. I use multiple therapeutic approaches including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Motivational Interviewing. Michelle received her Master's in Clinical Mental Health from Lewis University. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor skilled to work with people ages 14 and older. She understands that it takes a lot of courage for someone to not only ask for help, but follow through with the treatment recommended. She takes her time getting to know each client and their symptoms in order to provide the best care for each individual. Adriana Garza is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 6 years of experience specializing in depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, mood disorders and trauma. Adriana provides an inviting and comfortable environment for clients to heal and explore emotions related to past conflict as well as current stressors such as life transitions, relationship issues and internal conflict. Adriana provides therapy for individuals and families. Adriana uses a non-judgemental approach while still challenging the client to work towards individualized goals.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a specialization in school social work, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor within the state of Illinois. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Substance Abuse Counseling at the University of St. Francis and my Master’s Degree in Social Work with specialization in schools from Aurora University. In addition to being a therapist, I also currently work as a school social worker at the high school level.
