I work with clients struggling with anxiety and OCD in an approachable, warm environment. I'm here to provide support through the hard times, and encouragement for taking on the challenges of treatment, with lots of experience to guide the way. I have a particular passion for working with new parents, and those hoping to become parents, who are navigating the road to parenthood, and all the anxieties, worries, and identity shifts that come with it.

At North Shore Family Services, we empower kids, teens, and adults to learn tools, so they can succeed independently. Our goal is for children, teens, adults, parents, and couples to learn skills to be successful with school, peers, work, and family- long after therapy ends. We assist with IEP and 504 plans to help our children/teen clients succeed where they spend most of their day- out of their parents' sight. Parents are our partners in helping kids and teens learn life skills.

I am a graduate from the Illinois School Of Professional Psychology. I completed my training at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's Center for Pain Management (now known as the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab). I have worked in hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, and long-term care facilities. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I have extensive experience treating adults and geriatrics with a wide variety of psychological issues. I treat a variety of conditions such as, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, relationship issues, and life adjustment difficulties. I am also on staff at the Amita neuroscience institute.

Jessica Beaston is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 16 years of experience. She specializes in helping people break the cycle of their daily stressors by challenging them to try new things and get outside of their comfort zones for their own life satisfaction. Jessica also specializes in concerns related to women’s health, from pregnancy, motherhood, intimacy with their partners, and any other form of stress that affects a woman’s mental and physical health.

Specializing in perinatal mental health, I work with mothers and fathers who are enduring heightened stress, depression, anxiety, OCD, and sleep issues that have developed or exacerbated during pregnancy or postpartum. I am extremely compassionate and dedicated to helping those who have experienced pregnancy termination, infertility, and perinatal grief and loss. I also have special clinical interests and experience in chronic pain, self-medication with cannabis, endocrine disorders, and other physical health ailments. I effectively and appreciatively also meet with mental healthcare providers, same-sex parents, and caregivers.

I assess the biological, psychological and social aspects of a person, couple or family, using a balance of approaches that are attachment based and include insight-oriented and cognitive behavior therapies to treat depression/anxiety, grief, trauma, etc.

Questions like “Why do I feel stuck?”, “What do I truly want?”, or “How can I change my circumstances?” can be hard to navigate on your own. I have 20 years of experience helping patients reclaim their happiness from the effects of anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, stress and perfectionism. I work with individuals, mother-daughter relationships, siblings, and help couples redefine their relationships after time or troubles erode familiar routes to connection. Therapy can help.

I work with individuals across the lifespan however my specialties are working with women and health care/mental health professionals. My areas of specialization include complex issues related to trauma, abuse or neglect, grief, loss, separation, life transition, relationship difficulties, dissociation, emotional regulation, sexuality, body image concerns, and fertility issues. I also have significant experience working with cancer survivors and their families as well as in the area of relational violence.
