I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with NOVI Counseling Services PLLC. I enjoy working with individuals, families, children, adolescents and adults. I have a warm, collaborative approach when working with people to help them manage anxiety, mood disorders, stress, conflict, school issues, and life transitions. I work with the person to choose which therapy method will be the most helpful in their situation. I have clinical experience in community mental health and schools. I lived in Latin America for over twenty years and provide counseling in Spanish and English.

I focus on helping clients discover core strengths and achieve greater self-awareness. I believe that when negative patterns are identified, clients can begin the process of uncovering root causes of dissatisfaction. In a safe and non-judgmental environment, clients can learn new tools and make conscious choices to create healthy relationships and improve overall well-being. I look holistically at the whole person through a lens of embodiment, while encouraging healthy lifestyle changes along with mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

I believe in the importance of building a therapeutic relationship and comfortable environment and therefore believe in being authentic and realistic with clients. I find this to be especially important in working with adolescents, young adults, families, and those who hav experienced trauma. I enjoy getting to understand their prospective and being able to advocate for them as well as to teach them to advocate for themselves and learn the skills that they need to communicate more effectively with others. I also believe that working with families and parents creates more success for everyone and therefore facilitate more change.

For over 25 years, I have provided counseling and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults and couples. I am humbled by the courage it takes to reach out for help when faced with life's challenges. My approach is informed by my psychodynamic training, which acknowledges our early experiences, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help understand our thoughts, feelings and behaviors in the present day life. I work with a range of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, loss and grief, relationship struggles, divorce and co-parenting issues and work place stress.

I work with outpatients, mostly children but some adults. We have treated both Adults and children with a specialty intervention called neurofeedback. Our target clients are neurodevelopmentally delayed such as autism, learning disabilities, and other neurologically impaired clientele. We have been highly successful treating attention deficit disorder without medication with a 90% success rate. We have also treated with success those with cognitive impairment due to head injuries, stroke, and have been particularly effective in treating anxiety disorder.
