Erika Figgers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois who has been practicing since 2013. She has a Masters of Social Work from Indiana University. Erika has experience working with individuals impacted by mental health, trauma, substance abuse, HIV, grief/loss, and homelessness. She is passionate about her work because she feels everyone has the capacity to learn, change, and create a better quality of life. Erika approaches her clients with holistic counseling to look at all areas of their life to create strategies to meet their needs.

As an individual, couple, and family therapist, I focus on client issues concerning anxiety, body image, identity, processing trauma, life transitions, career change, and relationship stress. My work focuses on understanding the patterns, core beliefs, themes, and cycles that serve as barriers getting in the way of your authentic self and the life you want to live. My approach is curious, creative, culturally-sensitive, and balances reflecting on the past for greater insight with an action-oriented approach that develops practical skills and tools to use outside of session.

I will take my time to get to know the many diverse parts of you—your strengths, your hardships, your relationships, and more. While we will likely be discussing some difficult topics and life events, I will always move at a pace that is comfortable for you, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as CBT and exercises such as mindfulness activities and emotional check-ins as appropriate along the way. Together, we can successfully process any difficult or conflicting emotions you may be experiencing.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers, finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

As a couple and family therapist, I am interested in learning more about your struggles and challenges from a systemic and relational framework. Approaching these from an antiracist lens, we will work collaboratively to uncover some of the contexts in which you may have learned to relate to others, and how your own family of origin stories and experiences continue to shape how you communicate and work through conflict in your relationships. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, and enjoy working with couples, adolescents aged 6-12, teens, and families of all formations.

Megan Wills is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults and adolescents. She practices from a relational, trauma-informed, person-centered, and intersectional feminist lens. Megan believes that the foundation of good therapy is a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. She works to create a space where clients can experience safety, support, and unconditional positive regard, build insight into their values, and live a better life.

My experience allows me to assist individuals with identifying challenging areas in their life and developing strategies and methodologies to adequately and timely address maladaptive behaviors and fears that are barriers to their mental health status and healthy growth and development.

I provide non judgemental and subjective feedback to clients who may have emotional, behavioral and mental health disorders. My keen understanding of diverse backgrounds allows me to be highly responsive to a client's individual needs and circumstances. I am also very passionate about staying current with the latest evidence-based research and techniques which may be able to benefit my clients. Building a strong rapport with my clients is of the utmost importance, allowing me to accurately assess and treat my client's emotional/mental health needs.

For many years, I have been helping my clients to lead happier and more fulfilling lives. One of my main psychotherapy approaches is cognitive-behavioral therapy, a well-established, efficient and effective form of psychotherapy. It directly targets the patient's thinking, and behavior, patterns that are producing psychological problems, and teaches the patient to change those patterns. In marital and family therapy, I help the parties to communicate better with one another and to reach agreements acceptable to all. If the children have behavior problems, I often help the parents to become more effective disciplinarians.

I believe that we each have divine destinies, but too often there are obstacles such as shame and feelings of unworthiness that hinder us from seeing our purpose and possibilities. My primary focus for over 30 years has been providing help to individuals with sexual problems and relationship therapy. I have special interest and expertise in working with sexual dysfunctions, compulsive sexual behaviors and couple therapy.

I use a person-centered approach to understand the holistic reality of my clients so they feel understood and accepted wherever they are in their lives. I believe we all have the innate capability to heal ourselves. Therefore my main role as your therapist will be to help you discover what you truly want from life and what obstacles, both internal and external, are getting in the way of you experiencing freedom and happiness. As a clinician, I have been privileged to journey with my clients through their lives and have seen many overcome substantial obstacles and make significant breakthroughs using therapy as a tool.
