I aim to help my clients recognize that difficult situations will not ‘destroy’ or ‘define’ them, and instead help them regain some control in deciding who they are and the path they want to take. I believe in utilizing therapy to help my clients recognize their own personal story and growth. I provide support and tools for my clients to use along the way, drawing from a wide toolbox of therapy approaches, including EMDR.

I use a person-centered approach to understand the holistic reality of my clients so they feel understood and accepted wherever they are in their lives. I believe we all have the innate capability to heal ourselves. Therefore my main role as your therapist will be to help you discover what you truly want from life and what obstacles, both internal and external, are getting in the way of you experiencing freedom and happiness. As a clinician, I have been privileged to journey with my clients through their lives and have seen many overcome substantial obstacles and make significant breakthroughs using therapy as a tool.

Perhaps you are struggling with relationships, finding yourself repeating destructive patterns, and/or feeling anxious or depressed. Or maybe it is something else which has led you to search for a therapist at this point. I am interested in working with you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, so that you may cope with life's challenges more adequately. If after discussing your concerns, we both feel that psychotherapy may be helpful, I will do my best to be your partner in the process.

One of the most challenging steps in the therapeutic process is making the first call. People are often concerned about the stigma that surrounds therapy but seeking out services in itself shows a high level of courage and strength, as well as an interest in growth and change. I will support and encourage you throughout your journey. I believe that therapy is a unique path that you should not have to go through alone.

Therapy with me works best with clients who are motivated, looking to gain insight, and wanting a space to relieve stress. My hope is to create an environment where people can find themselves validated and empowered to make meaningful, long-lasting change in line with their values.

Sessions are dedicated times where you can openly share what's going on in your life and in your brain. Do you need to process by exploring your family's D&D alignments or equating your co-workers to the 2010 Blackhawks roster? Let's do it. Your therapy sessions will be specific to you - there are no right or wrong answers. Together we can figure out what you need to feel better and work on getting you there. All you have to do is show up and be willing to try things.
