Dr. Brietzke is the owner of Chicagoland Neuropsychology. Our team focuses on correct diagnosis, but in our hearts, we all know that you don't treat a diagnosis. You treat a person. To tell you a little bit about myself, I have spent the past 20 years working with children, adolescents, families and older adults. I've specialized in helping people work through trauma, unexpected life changes and the challenges that day to day life presents. I've worked with people having difficulties with Depression, Anxiety and other mood disorders. I've been in practice as a social worker since 2007 and in private practice since 2011 .

Breaking unhealthy habits, getting "unstuck", or working through life’s challenges requires creativity. But when we are feeling depressed, anxious, or overwhelmed, our brains tend to follow rigid patterns of thinking, feeling, and reacting. And that makes creativity difficult to access. As a therapist, my goal is to develop a fully creative process with each client and provide a comfortable space to explore and discuss different perspectives and self-care strategies.

I specialize in working with children, teen and young adults with Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has knowledge working with clients who experience trauma, have been impacted by an active DCFS case, and survivors of domestic violence. I work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, physical/sexual/emotional/financial abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, family separations and dynamics, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
