I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years experience working with Adults, Teens, Children, and Families to address a variety of issues. My specialty areas of focus are Child and Adolescents, Family Conflict, ADHD in children and adults, PTSD, Traumatic Events, Grief, Anxiety, Depression and Parenting. I am a non-traditional and creative therapist that incorporates a number of techniques and am respected in the field and by my clients for my unique and straightforward approach to engagement and treatment.

I specialize in supporting children ages 5-10 who struggle with big emotions, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem and more. I use a child centered play therapy model in working with children. Fred Rogers said, "Play is really the work of childhood." I meet children in this work, providing therapeutic support, to help build emotional intelligence and vocabulary, process life events, build self-esteem and self-trust. I am a parent of two children and one Angel baby. My life experience deepens my passion to support parents through challenges beginning in the prenatal period of life.

I have experience working with all ages, families, and couples; and with those presenting with anxiety, depression, PTSD, CPTSD, developmental disorders, domestic abuse, addiction, and chronic mental illness, among others. I am grounded in psychodynamic therapy, with an emphasis on attachment based interventions and Family Systems. Furthermore, I integrate different therapies (when needed), taking into consideration the complexity of multicultural perspectives that shape our lives, to meet the unique needs of each individual. I conduct neuropsychological assessments, and am currently Adjunct Faculty at ISPP.

Hello! I am Dr. Julie Chicvara, PsyD, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Born and raised in the southwest suburbs, I have settled my own family in the same community and opened a private practice in the Orland/Mokena area. You can expect a warm welcome and a comfortable environment upon coming to my office. The first visit entails a structured interview where background information and presenting problems are noted. A weekly time will be agreed upon where we will meet to work on therapeutic goals and current stressors. Therapy sessions are less structured and are tailored to the individual.

Hi, I am a child, adolescent and young adult therapist. I see clients from 3-25 years. I have a strong passion for working with adoptive families and all the challenges that this brings, and I also treat anxiety, depression, mood disorders, kids and teens with huge behaviors, ADHD and executive skills deficits, learning disabilities, attachment, trauma, domestic abuse, sexual, emotional and physical abuse, developmental issues. I also do a lot of parenting work, and I teach Robyn Gobbel's parenting course. I work with a parent in the room for children under 12, as parents become my co-therapist, carrying on the work at home.
