Is anxiety and stress getting the best of you? Perhaps your mood has been down and you’re feeling overwhelmed and are unsure of what to do to feel better. Life transitions, such as getting married or divorced, having a baby, moving, getting a new job or losing one, or having a serious illness, can be really stressful and lead to anxiety or a depressed mood. You feel like you should be able to cope with these changes or maybe that you’re overreacting. You just want to feel better and more in control.

We all experience stress, whether it be from our jobs, relationships, and/or life changes, big and small. Most of the time we handle everything just fine but sometimes life throws us a curve and we become overwhelmed. That is when I would encourage you to talk with a professional, whether it is me or another professional.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my emphasis is meeting clients where they are and providing the type of support to assist them with overcoming challenges that have led to negative experiences. For the past 18 years, I have worked with children and their families to seek solutions to social, behavioral, and emotional issues that impact the home and school environment. One of my primary goals is to equip children and their parents with the tools needed to be successful in any situation or environment. Learning the strategies/tools to build strong, mutually respectful relationships is an area of value where I like to focus.

Getting started can be the most difficult and intimidating part of therapy. I hope to create comfort with the idea of starting this process and build a trusting relationship in which you feel your needs and goals are addressed.

I always valued helping others and providing a supportive surrounding for those who may feel lost, alone or helpless. I earned my Masters from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with concentrations in Children and Adolescents, and Latino Mental Health.
