My name is Dr. Amr Kireem, a clinical psychologist and licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. I have been working with clients since 2009 who struggle with anxiety, depression, ADHD, addiction, OCD, PTSD/trauma, relationship issues, codependency, life transitions, and other symptoms. Applying evidence-based approaches, changing faulty assumptions, and finding HOPE are the keys to a successful outcome, while keeping the individual's culture and ethnicity in mind.

Many of the patients I have helped, voluntary and court ordered, have tried multiple ways to address their problems, including seeing different therapists and/or taking medications, but have not progressed much. Many treatment approaches are superficial, focusing on reducing the number or severity of symptoms or offering only coping skills. However, these approaches most often only provide temporary relief, but never address the underlying causes of those symptoms. A reduction in symptoms is almost never what struggling people are looking for; instead they want to know where and why problems started and how to fix them permanently.

It can be daunting to seek outside help for something that might be deeply personal. But sometimes, life can overwhelm us, and we might decide that something is not working for us or that it’s time to pursue a change.
